How Zebrano collects, uses, protects and shares personal information, and the choices you have.
Effective date: October 13, 2026.
Zebrano looks after people's homes, and with that comes the details of family life. We treat that trust as the most important part of our work, and this policy explains how we handle personal information in plain terms.
This policy applies to Zebrano, a home management company based at 184 Davenport Rd, Toronto, Ontario ("Zebrano", "we", "us"). It covers personal information we collect through this website, from clients and prospective clients, from trades and suppliers who work with us, and from people who apply to work for us.
We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Information about a business, such as a trade's company name and business phone, is generally not personal information, but we protect it with the same care.
Zebrano is responsible for the personal information in its care and has designated a person to oversee our compliance with this policy. Everyone who works for Zebrano, and every trade and service provider we engage, is expected to protect the personal information they handle for us. How to reach us is in section 15.
When you contact us through the website. Your name, email address, phone number, neighbourhood, approximate home size and anything you choose to tell us about your home or what you need.
When you become a client. Depending on the work we do for you, this can include:
When you apply to join our trade network. Your name, company, email, phone number, trade, years in business, website or social profile, whether you are licensed and insured, and what you tell us about your work. If you join our network we may also ask for licence numbers, certificates of insurance and safety clearance documents.
When you apply for a job. Your résumé, cover letter and anything you send us, plus references.
Automatically, when you use this website. Technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type and pages viewed. Our forms use a security check to block spam, which assesses your browser without asking you to solve a puzzle.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, government identification numbers or full payment card numbers through the website or by email.
We do not use your information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law requires or permits it.
We collect, use and share personal information with your consent. Sometimes consent is implied: if you send us an enquiry, you consent to us contacting you about it. For more sensitive information, such as access codes, we ask for express consent.
If you give us information about someone else, such as a family member or staff member, please make sure they know you are sharing it with us.
You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you do, we will explain what that means for the services we can provide. For example, we cannot manage a trade visit without being able to give the trade access to your home.
We treat keys, access codes and household schedules as the most sensitive information we hold. Only the people who need them for a specific visit can use them, and when our relationship ends we return or securely destroy them. For your security, we don't publish the details of how we store or handle them.
We never name our clients or identify their homes, on this website, in marketing or anywhere else, without written permission. We take photographs of work for our records and for insurance purposes. We do not publish photographs of client homes.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only as follows:
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is outside Canada, information may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under its laws. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to ours. You can contact us for more information about where your information is held.
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including:
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please do not send access codes or financial details by ordinary email. Your Home Manager will tell you the safest way to share them.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. As a guide:
When information is no longer needed, we securely destroy it or make it anonymous.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how we have used it and who we have shared it with, and ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete. Send your request using the contact details in section 15. We will respond within 30 days, and we may need to confirm your identity first. If we cannot give you access to some information, for example because it includes someone else's personal information or is legally privileged, we will tell you why.
Cookies. This website uses cookies and similar technology that it needs to work and to protect our forms from spam. If we add analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may not work properly.
Email. We send commercial email, such as newsletters, only to people who have agreed to receive it or where CASL otherwise permits. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe. Messages about services you have asked for are not affected if you unsubscribe from news.
If a breach of security safeguards involving personal information creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the people affected and report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as PIPEDA requires. We keep a record of every breach, whatever its size.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.
We may update this policy as our services, systems or the law change. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell clients directly about any significant change.
